Over October and November, we were doing a lot of little gigs, so we spent a lot of time preparing for them and not much time recording. After a lull in the gig schedule, we recorded four new tracks that we'd been putting off, "Phoenix the Stripper," "Effigy," "Ready to Die," and "Perdition," in one night. "Unknown" was recorded a few months prior, but I felt like the vibe of that track was similar enough to that of the other four to include on the same release.
